Cosmetic Tattooing- Why it is low maintenance, not no maintenance!

Whilst it is true that investing in cosmetic tattooing results in amazing looking brows, lash lines or lips with little needed to do on a daily basis however it is important to note that it is a LOW maintenance option not NO maintenance! There are a few factors that can affect how your brows last and why you may still need to do a few quick and easy steps to keep your cosmetic tattooing looking it’s best.

  1. I strive for your cosmetic tattoo to look natural and complementary. I don’t like to go too dark and heavy as the aim is to enhance your natural features.  Considering this you may need to enhance this look with additional makeup for special occasions such as an event, wedding or race days.

  2. My lip blush treatments are created with a beautiful natural blush colour designed to enhance your lips and define the lip line. Sometimes you may like to add a bold red statement lip; this is where you would need to add a lipstick colour over your cosmetic tattoo.

  3. Cosmetic tattooing is semi-permanent and will fade naturally over time, as you get closer to needing a touch up you may need to add some make-up or tint your brows to keep them looking fab.

  4. If your brow hairs are naturally lighter or grey, your brow hair naturally sits flat/down, or if you want to create that fluffy, lamination look - then using some brow products is a must! I stock and love the Full Brow range in the studio. My two must-have products for enhancing my brows on a daily basis are the skinny brow pencil and brow fibre. They are quick and easy to use and retail for only $25 each. You can purchase these in my studio- located in Buddina, Sunshine Coast.

Just like getting your hair dyed or having anti-aging skin treatments some maintenance and touch ups are required. At the end of the day, low maintenance is far better than attempting to fill in your brows from scratch every morning.

Don’t forget about your cosmetic tattoo yearly touch ups! I recommend a touch up every 12- 18 months or when your tattoo colour has faded by approximately 50% to keep your cosmetic tattoo looking amazing.

This is a perfect example of when your brow tattoo would be due for a touch up. It is important to wait until it has faded by at least 50%.
